The Anix’s “Black Space Deconstructed EP includes the original track from The Anix’s debut album Shadow_Movement and “deconstructed” and “stripped” versions, as well as their respective instrumentals. The deconstructed version offers softer vocal layering and re-prioritized guitars and percussion while the “stripped” version is akin to an acoustic rendition.
“Black Space” delves into the mindset of an artist fighting to keep their dreams alive in a world of failure and artistic repression:
“The verses of the song describe the darkness an artist goes through during the struggle of trying to find a way to make a living with their art, and the chorus, “Hang on, to nothing, to nothing, I won’t, let go, never let you go” describes an artists inability to quit. It is a strange thing to go through, where we just keep taking the abuse, the failure, the critique, losing money, relationships, sacrificing life, but we cant seem to let it go-no matter how toxic it is for you.”
